My kitchen and living room are joined with only a change in flooring separating the two. My husband told me that those two room and the community bathroom walls should all be the same color. Is ther any truth to that or can I paint all three a different color?

hi
your open concept look home will feel larger and calmer if it is one colour or one colour family (one paint chip with the 3 colours (shades of the same colour on it)).if you can not look at the wall (not the floor) and say were the room starts or stops i would paint the living room and kitchen the same, the bathroom inside it can be some what different because it is an enclosed space and the door is closed most of the time. you can make the living room and kitchen look different from each other with accent pieces in different patterns or colours (maybe floral in one room plaid in another.)
