I've changed from sodium chloride to potassium chloride and in the process cleaned my tank - en Ecowater.

I've got about a 3 gal bucket full of salt. Any ideas on where/how to dispose of it? I don't want to just dump it down the drain - septic system or in the field behind the house - we're out in the country. Thanks..

Got any areas you want to clear of vegatation? Scatter it around in that area...don't expect to grow anything there for a while.

Got deer out there? Just leave it in the bucket, leave it out in the woods, and it will be gone pretty quick. Or see if a hunter friend wants it.

You can dump salt anywhere you don't have to worry about killing any plants. A gravel road or a river bank.

My question would be: why would you want to change to potassium chloride?

Not that we've heard back...but gotta disagree. A heavy concentration of salt will kill most plants. Not just saline water...but heavy salt. Course if theres no rain, then the salt will just sit there.

Try watering house plants with a really strong (as in saturated) solution. They won't last.

JMO...No softener guy.....
