I want to get a new GPS. I have a Lowrance. It has been a good unit. I would like a color monitor and a larger screen than mine which is about 4 inch diagonal. I would like to stay around $500. Any advice on what to buy and who to buy from?

Check with boating outfitters either on line or in your area. The normal "large" screen for car is 4.5 inches.

Look for a lowrance, they came out with a new line the hds so places are blowing out the last years models. I personally like the lowrance brand but check out others. I wouldn't try a auto unit as they aren't waterproof.
