I have an Ademco 20p with 6160 keypad. I'm just installing now and could use some help. Do you recomend solderless hoops for the terminal strip? The way I read it I would use terminals 4-5 for power to keypad and motion detects. Terminals 8-9 are for smoke detect? Is there programming for motion detects instead of door contacts? Thanks, m

I wouldn't waste effort on putting crimp on lugs on the ends of the wires. The terminals are designed to clamp down on the bare wire, just fine.

All of the zones are programmable. Give the list of zone types in the installer manual a read through. Zone 1 (8-9) is the only one that supports 2-wire smoke detectors, but it can be set for any of the other zone types.
