this is on a 5hp briggs. it has points and i want to convert it to solid state. i got alot of used parts......can u do this without having to buy a part? does anyone have a how to lesson on converting this motor?

A 5hp with points has to be a 130000 series engine. The cheapest solution is the 394970 kit. The easiest is a new armature p/n 397358.

can i change the fly wheel coil ect. off of another engine with solid state coil and so forth or do i need to have that new armature, i have several solid state parts and engines that is more of the ? thanks for the response
