I recently had a 10'x6' section of padding replaced in my basement, and the wrong rebond padding was used. They installed a 3/8" 6 lb pad when the existing is actually 7/16". They will be coming out Friday to install the proper padding. My question is how can I tell if the existing padding is 6 lb. or 8 lb? The installers will be bringing a roll of both the 6 lb and 8 lb with them. Should I be able to tell which one I have by visually comparing the different rolls to my existing padding?

You can tell by feel which cushion is more dense.

Installers came Friday and replaced the 3/8 pad with a 7/16 6lb. Everything is fine now.
