I recently had a new vinyl floor put into my kitchen and bathroom. I know that some floor cleaners will actually strip and/or dull the vinyl. I'm afraid to use any detergents! I usually take just water to do a quick wipe up... but what can I use for a good clean once a week or so?

i would just use 8oz of vinegar per gallong of cool water...and then buff dry with a clean terry cloth rag(s) afterward

Vinegar is acidic... wouldn't that strip the floor over time?

no shouldnt hurt it...alkaline cleaners strip... you have to remember your mixing the vinegar with water..it balances the pH out

the reason why i suggest vinegar is it removes residues and is easy to prepare..been using it on tile and hardwood floors for years..never a problem

but if you want another solution you can head down to your local janitoral supply and ask for a neutral floor cleaners...it should have a pH around 7
