Hi everyone. Are any of you familiar with the Eureka Altima (http://www.eureka.com/index.php?option=com_family&view=family&task=getproductsbyfamily&familyid=2&categoryid=1) vacuums? Mine has three filters, a foam rubber filter, a fabric filter that sits directly behind the foam rubber filter and is embedded in a rubber-like frame that seats in behind the foam rubber filter. And then there's a replaceable filter at the bottom of the vacuum; this one has a ribbon-folded fabric, similar an automotive air filter.

It seems to me all three of these should be replaced at certain intervals. I've found two of them in the local Wal-Mart store where I bought the vacuum; those two are the foam rubber filter and the filter at the bottom of the vacuum. I have not seen the fabric filter that sits directly behind the foam rubber filter and is embedded in a rubber-like frame that seats in behind the foam rubber filter. But, I would think this one should be periodically replaced, also.

I also wonder whether the fabric filter that sits directly behind the foam rubber filter and is embedded in a rubber-like frame that seats in behind the foam rubber filter can be washed by, say, submerging it in a kitchen sink.

So, two main questions:
Should the fabric filter that sits directly behind the foam rubber filter and is embedded in a rubber-like frame that seats in behind the foam rubber filter be periodically replaced and, if so, where can I find them?

Can the above filter be washed, thereby prolonging it's useful life?

I believe I found an online source for what I'm looking for. The DCF-16 (http://www.ezvacuum.com/eureka-dcf16-dust-cup-filter-62736-dcf16-genuine-p-573.html?currency=USD) seems to be the filter I did not see at the local retailer.
