We are buying our first houe. We close on April 13. The house is move-in ready. There are just some things that we want to do. Our dilemma is this: The kitchen is a light tan tile. the front and back doors have a darkish grey tile upon entering. The rest of the house is a neutral grey carpeting, INCLUDING the formal dining room. We do not want carpet in the dining room, our dining room furniture is Cherry.
What we are having a tough time deciding on is what to do with the dining room. We first were going to put in wood flooring. Because we were going to put wood in the living room as well. Now we are not going to put hardwood in the living room. We then thought about tile in the dining room, but that seems like it might make the dining room less formal.
So we are torn on what to do. I am not quite sure how one room in the whole house had wood, and it is only 12x12. PLEASE some suggestions!!

Hi paulheels and welcome to DIY

I will be glad to help. Can you post a picture so I can visualize the colors and the situation?

I figured I put it in the wrong thread! We talked about it last night and decided to hold off on it. We are going to get some painting done and put in some wainscoting. We decided to move everything in and think about it some more before making a decision. Thanks for the response and I am sure I will be back for some help!

Paul
