I am gutting my basement and will be building proper rooms etc. there.
The foundation wall is approx. 7in thick with a 2X4 stud wall sitting on top of it.
I plan on building a new 2X4 wall in front of the foundation wall so I will have a straight wall from floor to ceiling.
I plan on insulating the outside stud wall and then using the 3.5in space from that wall to the new wall as the wiring / pluming chase etc.
Should I insulate over the pluming / wiring area as well?
Should I insulate the new stud wall with the 7in of insulation behind that.
Where would the vapor barrier go?
Thanks
James
