I need some help in getting the installer code. I have a code to arm the system from the prior owner but it is not the master code. I'm wanting to reset the master code but I'm having trouble getting the installer code. I read some of the other forums and I tried this:
1. Unplugged the transformer and battery
2. Plugged the transformer back in and within 60 seconds, pressed the * and # on the keypad at the same time.
When I did this it gave me the number 20 and did nothing else...so I keyed 20 and then it gave me 00 and did nothing else, so I keyed 00...then it gave me 02 then 03 then 04. I never did get it to show me a 4 digit code...it just kept climbing up in numbers so I just unplugged it and plugged it back in...and now it is just as it was. I'm obviously missing something in order to get the 4 digit installer code. Any help would be appreciated.

I now have a new problem...I was able to get the installer code and changed my master code, everything was looking good...once I finished and sat down, it started beeping and the display read check 09 (tamper warning according to the manual). I used my code and hit off twice as it mentions in the manual to clear other warnings but it just won't go away. Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks,
Kyra

Check 09 on a Vista 10se (I am assuming that you have a V-10se) means wireless receiver trouble. If you don't have a wireless receiver, I suspect that in your earlier fumbling around you told the system to look for one.

Go back into programming and enter *22 0
Then exit programming with *99
