There is lots of old scotch tape from posters' having been put up on the walls and we don't know how to take it off. I tried using alcohol but that didn't work. Will primer cover the spots? Suggestions?

You may also try taking your pocket knife and carefully lifting one edge up and peeling it off. Don't dig though, this will leave a nasty spot.
