I have a briggs mod. 110412 ohv engine with a briggs carb. It was only running with the choke on so I cleaned the carb and replace the needle and seat(it has a plastic float) replaced the welch plugs. It still only runs with the choke on. It is on a troybilt tiller. I removed the carb and cleaned it again still same thing. What is the problem? Thanks for your help

did you install a new spark plug? also, check the gas cap vent.

I checked the gas cap. took it off and still same problem. when I try to move it off choke it starts to surge real bad.

I would suggest cleaning the nut that holds the bowl on(main jet), there are two holes close to the bottom and one through the center, also while it is running spray carb cleaner along the mating surfaces behind the carb and intake, if the engine tempo changes you have an air leak. I cleaned the main jet again and that did it. Runs great. thanks for help
