Iinstalled a new bottom heating element and thermostathad hot water for one day now just cold water what checked elec supply all ok what could the problem be

Most likely problem if you have power to the heater is a failed upper element and right behind that would be a tripped overheat thermostat. After those, a failed upper thermostat or broken wire.
