I have 20+year old batik from Nepal that I'd like to hang as curtain/door in new green kitchen. How to protect it from sun and handling damage? The batik is in great condition. It is hardy. It must have been batiked with wax and the cotton seems a little waxy already. It's been mostly stored (folded, shoved in box) these past 20 years, and I'm just not sure what I should do to it, if anything, before I hang it. It will get indirect sunlight, and mostly be gathered on one side and pulled across only occasionally to hide view of laundry machines from the kitchen. Thanks for any ideas.

Hi and welcome to the forum! The only way I know to protect fabric against the sun is to line it. If you're looking for a "green" lining, I don't know where you would get it, but a google search may help. Perhaps consider having a "film" put on your windows.
