I was moving around some furniture and discovered that the carpet nap is crushed /indented from the weight of the stereo cabinet.
Is there some way to bring the nap back up?

Vacuum it or steam it. Vacuuming will take most crush out after a day and several vacuum sessions.

If you don't have a steamer you can use a damp towel and an iron. Be careful not to melt your fibers.
