Im installing a DSC 1832 system in place of an old Brinks system. I noticed today that my Garage (overhead door) has a sensor on it.

I use the garage for my main entry/exit so I do not want that door to be part of the instant alarm or even entry/exit delay since I probably would not be out and door closed in time.

Is there a way I can have that 'zone' trigger the keypad chime but not trigger any alarm conditions? I'd like to hear the keypad beeps if it is opened/closed while I'm in the house.

Yes, if it's on a zone by itself, it's pretty easy.

You can use the 24 hour non-alarm zone type, and turn on the chime attribute (one of the rare instances where you need to modify the zone attributes)

Thanks, that seems to work. Now I just have 1 more problem to solve (that I'm aware of so far).. I'll make a new post for that.
