I am coming close to finishing my basement and am looking into carpets. I saw a product called Kanga that you can install yourself. I have several questions. 1. Is this a decent quality carpet? 2. Can it be installed over concrete? If so, does the concrete need to be sealed? 3. What is the best method to install, tape or adhesive? 4. Can it go over stairs? If so, how do you install it on stairs? 5. How to you butt up against ceramic tile and laminate flooring?

Does this carpeting have a built-in foam backing? I seem to recall that "Kanga-back" was a trade name for foam-backed kitchen and indoor-outdoor type carpeting.

If it is the foam back carpeting, then I'd say YES it can be installed in the basement. My parents installed a similar foam back indoor-outdoor carpet in their basement in 1966 and it still looks good, despite a few floodings from sewer backups. :(

My prior and current house also have the foam back carpet in the basements, and seem to last forever (mine has been down since 1977). In all of these carpet installations I'm familiar with, they were glued down to the concrete, although I dread the job of replacing the carpeting and scraping off all the old foam backing.

I have been trying to find some Kangaback carpet. Can you suggest where I can find it? I used it several years ago but can no longer find any.
