Sears just delivered my new gas range. The flames on the burners have quite a bit of orange in them - much more than my 15 year old stove that is being replaced.

I don't see anything in the owner's manual that tells how to make these flames less orange and more blue. Should I be concerned? Should I have a technician check it out?

Probably just dust knocked free during install. Let it burn a while. When it clears take a spoon or some tool and tap a burner. You will see the flame become orange for a while. Yellow is a problem though.

I would call Sears service and have them check it out. Part of your purchase price was for the warranty. They can check to make sure it is level while they are there.

Are you using natural gas or propane?

If you are using propane, the range will have to be converted for propane use. If it's not converted you will get large yellow flames.
