I have an old Badger 5 disposal. When I activate the switch, the unit hums but does not crush the food.
It turns easily with a hex key and I tried the reset switch several times.
Do I need to replace the unit??

I've never run into that. But it pretty much sounds like if it truly easily turns and does not run, that something is severely wrong there, beyond repair.
