I own a 1988 18 foot VIP fish and ski with a outboard motor and i need to drain out the old fuel from the tank, how do i do that.
It has a tank mounted under the rear deck but i don't see any drain valves.

Its a slow process but what I do to be safe is remove the fuel line at the outlet of the primer bulb then attatch a hose to it with the other end of a hose in a fuel can on the ground. Prime the bulb then once it starts flowing it will siphon by itself.

I tried that today and when i remove the line from the engine it has a check valve in the line near the bulb and it won't let fuel flow out when i prime to bulb and the lines are crimped on and i can't bypass the fitting , any more ideas,anyone?

You can remove the criped on clamps and replace them with a small hose clamp. This is the easiest way I've tried to snake a hose down the filler tube but haven't had any luck.

thanks, there might not be as much fuel left in the tank as i thought , i may just put fresh gas in it and try to run it all out at the lake.
