I've laid tile before on floors, etc, but haven't done any on a non-water area wall before. Would like to tile perhaps about 1/2 way up the walls with some 6 x 6 porcelain tiles in a dressing area.
I think the following will work??
Since it won't be exposed to water, no need for hardibacker correct?
Current walls have texture...can I place tile directly over texture?
Is there a special thinset for this application or can the same thinset used for laying floor tile be used?
Just need to trowel the thinset on the walls and not on the tiles themselves?
Any help/advice would be appreciated...thanks in advance.

Hi!
1. No need for hardibacker
2. I would sand them down
3. Normal powdered thinset will be fine.
4. You are correct.
