Hi all,
I have a 8 x 5' piece of vinyl I am installing in a bathroom over a piece of existing sheet vinyl. I will be putting a thin coat of embossing compound on the old vinyl. I have purchased a special type of vinyl that only requires a special sort of adhesive. The flooring store gave me a quart of to be applied to a 5" path around the border.

I have two questions regarding the glueing of this kind of vinyl:

1) Do I need to put a path of glue around the cut out for the toilet?

2) I've been told that this type of vinyl will actually contract slightly and that's why you only glue the border. I will be putting quarter rounds down on top of the cut vinyl. Should I
cut the vinyl perfectly to fit or cut it 1/8" short on the edges that will be covered by the quarter rounds.

Thanks so much for any thoughts.

Cheers,

I would seal around the toilet because I have replaced many toilets with water damage when the wax seal leaked. Remove the toilet just before installation. I would cut it to fit after it acclimates as brought out in this post:

Allways follow the manufactures installation instructions, I may be wron.............wron........wrong. Boy, I have trouble saying that!!!! Be safe, GBR
