Wishing to lay floating click-style laminate flooring on stairs. I understand that for the stairs, no underlay is used and the planks are adhered direct to the treads. What about a 3'x3' landing? Underlay & floating, or no underlay and adhesive for this small area?

You can do it either way. Easier to float.
