I recently received an outdoor patio heater from Costco as a gift. It is very cold here in the upper midwest, so a "heated" patio is a relative term. I would like to use the heater in colder climates to grill out during the warmer days of winter (30-35), which, apparently, was not what this unit was designed for. Between the wind and the small flame, the output is very poor.
It does work well in spring, so I simply think it is a matter of stretching the heater beyond its limits.
This brings me to my question:
"Can I increase the Patio Heater output to give off more heat? Is this as easy as changing the regulator to a higher pressure output?"

I noticed a sticker on the side of the unit that lists out different pressures for the regulator by regional areas, making me curious as to whether the unit has the capacity, but is simply regulated by regional legal/safety requirements (as the US is the lowest pressure shown). I have also noticed commercial units in restaurants that burn way hotter than mine.

Thanks in advance for you reply.

If you adjust or alter the setting beyond the allowable, your insurance may not cover it should something happen. its UL listed as is.
