Any one have any ideas how to keep skunks out of your yard?
I have at least 1 here that comes around almost every night around midnight. He seems to hang out under my bedroom window. (Windows are closed as we still have a foot of snow on the ground and temps in 40's). When he comes around, he stinks everything up enough to wake me. I hired a trapper 10 years ago to remove skunks, but I can't afford to do that now.
Thanks.

Skunks are sure cute, but what they leave behind (no pun intended) is awful! Here's some ideas. These first two are organic and environmentally friendly.

Skunks – Feeding and burrowing by skunks can be a nuisance. Exclude skunks by sealing off all foundation openings with wire mesh hardware cloth or sheet metal. Bury fencing where skunks can gain access by digging. Eliminate outdoor food sources and secure garbage cans. Skunks may dig in turf for soil insects. Reseed heavily damaged areas. Most homeowners hire licensed nuisance wildlife control cooperators to remove skunks from under structures.

And a tidbit of information, skunk odor is the only thing the human olfactory nerve can pick up on for over a mile.
