Hi all,

I have an older model Kenmore UltraWash (110734610.. Canadian model #) , maybe 15 yr old ?

It appeared to have a problem with not enough water pressure to spin the top rack arm (cleaned the arm out, spins freely, and the unit fills with water right up to the float stop).

Took off the lower arm, the lid for the "Soil Separator" (8 screws ?) , then a little spinner deal that screws to the motor shaft and has a wee rubber stopper on the end of the screw, finally the 4 screws that hold the soil separator down. Cleaned out the bits of plastic (milk bag corners, nice..) a chunk of glass etc.

Now it properly washes the top rack dishes, but it leaks onto the floor. :(

I did notice some gaskets of concern.. one was a large o-ring between the soil separator lid and body (i cleaned the surface of it, but didnt remove it), one was between the base of the soil separator and the bottom of the cabinet around a small rectangular shape i think thats the inlet, as it mates to a nozzle on the soil separator body, and finally that screw that holds the soil separator to the motor shaft. That screw was really hard to get out and put back in.

Possible the leak is the misplacement etc of that rubber snub thing on that screw ???

I cant seem to find a parts diagram..

Thanks for any info.

Found the exact parts diagram for the unit, apparently a Whirlpool.

Whirlpool Dishwasher Repair Help and Parts (http://www.appliancepartspros.com/bd_whirpool_dish_parts.aspx)

Item 12 in the bottom diagram is the screw with the rubber gasket.. I pulled the screw back out and put a rubber washer in on 'top' of the item#11 the 'wash impeller'. The unit still leaks.

Ill try putting the washer 'under' item 11 tomorrow.

Not sure where the water is running out ..

At least what you are typing is being read, and you have my moral support. It sounds like you are mechanically able. And when this ordeal is finally over with, you will have so much knowledge of your machine that maybe you'll want to get another just like it again so you can quickly work on it. Sounds like you have a 'search and destroy mission', where you are in the best position to spot the leak and fix it.
