Hi,

Hoping someone can help with programming a DSC LCD 5500Z to show date and time on the LCD display. I have a DSC Power 832/PC1555. We purchased this home and the alarm was already installed and original manuals were not left by previous owner - I've been working with what I can find on line. Thanks.

you need the 4 digit INSTALLERS code

out of the box it is : 5010 for a Power 832 5555 for the 1555

usually changed by the installing company!

which do you have?

you need to do the following-

* (star) 8 _ _ _ _ (correct installers code) 000 076 then see if "2" is on, if its OFF press the 2 button, this should light the "2"

hit # # # (a few times to get out of installation set-up)

If you want it to show in 24 hour format, turn on the "3"

Thanks for the reply....installers code happens to be default so that was no problem. After 000 I had to press * to go further, then 076, then I added "2" and hit # a few times to exit out. Date and time still do not show - instead "10 Eng 000; Enter code to; Arm Sys"

iam wrong-

star 8 _ _ _ _ (installer code) STAR 076 then see if "2" is on, if its OFF press the 2 button, this should light the "2"

not sure what you have other than maybe the language of the keypad

re-do what you did, turning off 2 the way you turned it on, then do the correct way (above) .

Sorry my mistake when posting message...I had originally entered exactly as you suggested in your last post (without the 000) and added the 2. The message that appears was there before and still is. not sure what else to try.

have you tried to correct it-

* (star) 8 _ _ _ _ (correct installers code) 076 then see if "2" is on, if its ON press the 2 button, this turn the "2" off ? ? ?

You still have not told which panel it is

Sorry - Panel is a PC1555. I went back in and hit the 2 to remove it, hit # # to exit out. Waited a bit and went back in (star 8, 5555, star, 076 and hit 2 to put it back in, exited back out and waited a bit....It worked!!! Thanks for your advice....after your first post I had entered it correctly and nothing happened, not sure why I had to remove it, wait and reenter for it to work. Thanks again!
