I have an older Kelvinator dryer, probably made by Frigidaire.
I know the start switch is bad (Dryer works fine, but won't stop buzzing at end of cycle. Turning the knob to dry it starts without touching start button. Tested, it's bad.).
The problem I'm having is getting the stupid thing out of the control panel. I'm pretty mechanically inclined, but I can't tell what is holding it, but it looks like some sort of clip. It has a tab that sticks above the switch on the back side, and it looks like you either squeeze it or perhaps the whole clip slides into some notches in the switch. I've tried to finesse it out of there, but I don't want to break it. Once I get it out, I'm sure it will be obvious how it works, but I've been down that road before and it's better to ask than to force it and find out later how it works!

I have the new switch on the way, but I've searched everywhere looking for a diagram of this particular setup to no avail. Help?

If you don't get an answer...better to wait til the new one is there...bet it will be obvious then as well, as you stated.

Makes you wonder who designed some of these things doesn't it?

The model # is MDE336MBW1, and I think it's about 20 years old.
It's actually been a great dryer, and still works fine, except for the switch of course.....

hard to tell from the part drawing but often there is a tab that stops it from rotating counter clockwise slightly so that it can come out. just need to lift up on tab with small screwdriver.

youll be able to see how it works once you have the new part

Thanks! And looks plausible enough from what I can tell. Gave it a try, but no luck so far. I probably should wait for the new part!
