Hi all. I have a Kenmore 110 series washing machine, and the tub leans forward, throwing it out of balance and making it not drain well. From what I've guessed by looking at the parts list, I'm thinking the springs on the bottom might be worn out? Any other ideas?

Thanks in advance!!!

the counter weight spring probably came off. often the base where it attaches rusts though so you have to drill a new hole. lean machine back against wall, you should have 4 springs total, but only 1 counter weight spring

There are three somewhat short, but thick, springs, and one long, skinny spring. The long skinny spring was not attached to anything. I'm assuming that's the spring you're referring to, I'll have to figure out where it mounts.

Well, you were absolutely right. I went down and checked for a rusted out hole in the range of the length of that spring, found it, drilled a hole right next to it, installed the spring, and voila! It's fixed.

Thanks! Saved me a service call!
