I bought an older home where the previous owners did a terrible job putting sheetrock over the shiplapped walls. I've finished 3 rooms, floating and repairing the walls. The walls were already painted white.
Can I put a small amount of paint in my joint compound so I can see how the texture is dispersed over the walls? I'm spraying an orange peel texture on.
I will still kiltz the walls before painting, I just want to be able to really see where I've been with the texture.
Thanks,
Ellen

Yes, paint is often used to "color" joint compound.
There are better primers available than kilz.
