The trap door that lets the ice out of the chute stopped working properly. It wont let the ice out of the chute, and sometimes when you release the lever, it stays on, causing a build up of ice in the freezer. The trap door is really loose and wont go in the closed position on its own.

Same problem here, but how on earth did you get the front plate off? I'm prying, but am afraid it will break.
Thanks........Jim

Look along the bottom edge for a scewdriver slot, GENTLY pry out ward there is ofetn some double sided tape helping to hold it in. Once the bottom is out, you can lift the top off of the hooks. If you don't have that style, then you have to GENTLY pry the whole thing out, little by slowly. You know those paint can openers they give away at HD and Lowe's? The have a little hook on one end and a bottle opener on the other? Use a couple of those. Put some cardboard on the door surface to pry against so you don't mar the finish.
