I have a Kenmore sewing machine which requires me to press the reverse button for it to function, but it doesn't work anymore. Is it possible for me to reasonably fix it myself?

Hi and welcome to the forum! Depends on the machine and if you're mechanically inclined! :D If it's an older, metal model, it's worth your while to fix it, or even take it to a repairman. There are repair manuals you can buy to help you.
If it's a newer plastic model, I wouldn't bother even trying, I'd just toss it and get a new one.
btw, I'm sure you know this, but you shouldn't have to press the reverse button to get it functioning, so there was something wrong with it, to begin with.
