Any input on using hardened gun nails would be appreciated. I bought a box of Senco 2 1/4" GC23ahan gun nails for my Frame Pro 600 and am looking for what your experience and advice in application might be. They might be good for last minute hurricane plywood to block but I’m not sure what else. Thanks,

Not being galvanized, I wouldn't use them for anything exterior, since brite nails can rust. But some people might use a 7d nail to attach wall sheathing or roof decking (although galv nails/staples or ring shank nails would be better) or sub-flooring (provided it was also glued).

I dedicate my Senco 602 for galvanized only use while the Bostitch's are for interior framing use. I find the galvanized nails for the Senco are about $80 for 5000 while the bostitch are $65 for 2000, so it is a matter of economics.
But the longer nails will serve you better, either galvanized or ring shank as XSleeper said.
