What product should be used for building an interior column? Does it have to be wood or are there other options. The finish on the column will be painted and faux finished, so wood is not necessary. Thanks..........

Hi qdslse,

Can you provide more specific information? Is it a decorative column? supported load? dimensions? Height? type of foundation?

Columns will be installed purely for decoration, not a support column by any means, perhaps about 8 ft tall placed on a ceramic tile floor.

The best options are paint-grade poplar wood columns, aluminium or fiberglass columns
They come ready to use however, not all of them can painted because they are powder coated. So if you intend to apply a faux finish, stucco, etc, I'd go with wood
