Hello,
I am planning to install 1/2" engineered wood flooring that will butt up to existing 3/4" thick tile. I want a clean look at the transition, should I install 1/4" plywood underlayment or is there another way to make a clean transition since it is only 1/4". Thanks for your advice!

Are you on slab or wooden subfloor?
If on wooden subfloor, yes, you can add 1/2" layer of plywood.
