I pulled out the carpet in the house. My teenage son, decided he didn't want to deal with mom flooring his room and painted it with the room's trim paint which was a semi-gloss.
Does the paint need to be removed (please say no) before tiling work can begin?
The slab seem to absorb it and it still feels like slab.
Thanks, Lisa

No. I hope that makes you happy.:D Now for the real answer, you have to remove the paint. It is a bond breaker for thinset. You have to remove it mechanically, grind it, shot blast, etc. If you use chemicals, they seep into the concrete pores and can also be a bond breaker.

The split second of europhia helped me get over the gut dropping nose dive. :)
I knew. I just wanted to believe there was some new-fashion remedy/miracle. Or that if it didn't feel like paint... it really wasn't paint. ;)
Thanks. =) Lisa
But if anyone hears of some miracle fix...
It'll probably be a while before I muster up the energy to tackle that mess.
