My hall light doesn't light. I thought it was simply blown bulbs, new ones did not rectify the situation. The circuit breaker seems fine as does the switch (a dimmer) at the switch is also a timer that runs outside lights that work fine.
I suspect it might be a faulty dimmer, just wanted some advice before I tear it out and replace.

You could try to replace the dimmer with a regular toggle switch to narrow down if the problem is the dimmer or not.
Turn off the power and move the wires to the regular switch and test.
