View Full Version : Maytag Dryer - Blue Wire?

A new dryer belt was not too difficult to install on my Maytag dryer model LDE8704.

But, at the bottom, right side, 2 wires run together held by a tie. One wire is purple and plugs onto the heater. The other wire is blue, with a female clip on the end. This blue wire is loose, not attached to anything. I cannot see what it plugs on to. Any idea what the blue wire should attach to? I see no male clip missing a wire.

Thank you for any help.

Well, heres a schematic...but w/o knowing where the wire is connected at the other end..not sure it will help much.

I think it plugs into moisture sensor or the door switch.

You are right, it doesn't help much. :wall: Thank you for the reply.

You are right!!! I did not see the clip on the moisture sensor. I kept looking down, into the dryer, instead of up towards the moisture sensor. The wire is too short to reach the door switch.

What a help this forum is. :)
