I have been installing 3/4" hardwood over a plywood subfloor. For the most part rooms have been in slight need of grinding some high points to bring to level. I am using dream home underlayment which is quite forgiving, but I have one low spot which is too significant to grind high points to bring to level. I was considering self leveling compound, but read a past post that said not to with nailing. Any recommendations?? Can I use some extra dream home underlayment to address? Otherwise I don't know any other solution besides the compound....

I have heard of using tarpaper or shingles as a fix for a low spot. Yes, I thought it sounded strange as well, but I saw it several places. You may be able to google something on it. A Pro may be around to advise later.
