we have remodeled our bath now down to the new vanity it seems the walls are not square and the vanity top is 7/8 from the wall any ideas on how this can be corrected

Welcome to the forums! 7/8", I guess it is out of whack! Have you figured out what caused it? Set a framing square in the corner and see if the walls are 90 degrees to each other. You may want to post a couple of pictures on a site such as photobucket.com and copy/paste the HTML code to your reply post. That way we can see what you see.

I am assuming the other side is flush to the wall. What happens when you place the back of the cabinet and sink against the wall? Do you have a side splash in matching finish available? If you installed a side splash, would it take up the spacing and make it look better? I don't think tile as a backsplash will fill enough of the space to make it look good.
