I have a closet with two sliding doors hanging on a track. There is a small guide piece that went on the floor in the middle of the opening to keep the doors from swinging in/out when you slide them open.
What is the best method to attach it to porcelain? Do I drill through to the wood subfloor and screw it down or glue it to the tiles?

Hi!
I would get a good porcelain drill bit, drill through the tile, then swap to a normal drill bit for the wood subfloor. You will hammer in those plastic anchor deals then the screws for the track.

A tip I found when I had to drill thru some ceramic tile, was to lay down a piece of duct tape to the tile, then mark and drill the hole. The tape keeps the bit from trying to wander as you start the hole.

And be careful with the size of the plastic anchor. It should just act as a bushing..not for the screw to actually bite into and expand like in drywall. If its too tight a fit, I'd bet it could actually crack the tile..that would be bad.
The screw will hold into the subfloor, may not even need to drill the wood other than a pilot hole.
There's not really a lot of force on that little bracket. Its just to keep the doors from swinging and banging..as you stated.

Thanks! That makes perfect sense.
