I hope someone can advise me regarding the removal of our ceramic towel rack, installed on the bathroom drywall. Our shower curtain tension rod slipped off the wall and the tension rod edge came down on the ceramic holder closest to the tub/shower and broke it. We were not able to find a ceramic towel rack holder replacement at Home Depot or Lowes. So we purchased a different towel rack and need to remove the entire ceramic towel rack. These ceramic bar holders are not budging and are permanently on the wall for life! What is the best way to remove them without to much damage to the wall or if one ceramic holder and be found I am open to replacing the broken one and reinstalling the acrylic rod. Thank you

Those towel racks are pretty standard...they usually fit in 1/2 of a 4.25 x 4.25 tile space.

Wear protective goggles and gloves Protect the toilet, tub, sink etc. then take a hammer and wack it on the outside near the base and it should break...after the extension neck breaks off ...it will be hollow, take a chisel and work into the very center hitting the chisel...the objective is to break out the back of the ceramic rectangle that is against the wall. What the installer used to do is punch a hole in the wall abut the size of a hammer head...then they would "butter" the back of the towell post with a plaster based grout and then push the post into place, the plaster then mushrooms through the hole and when hardened anchors the towel post. As soon as you get the post broken it will all come out pretty easy.

I know Lowes carries those posts but look at the tile section not the hardware section. I actually have some of them from lowes.
