I recently took an apartment which has lovely wooden floors throughout, with a medium - dark stain.

Previous occupants painted the walls and ceilings with absolutely no regard to the flooring and as a result, it is covered in white paint spots, ranging from small to very large.

Can you advise of a product available on the market that will lift the paint stains without damaging the wood, or any other method of removing these stains?

I would appreciate your response very much.

Thank you again,

Charles

Charles:

If the paint is latex, "Goof Off" or a similar product for latex paint removal should do the job - available at Walmart and similar stores.

If it is latex paint, denatured alcohol is a very inexpensive and VERY effective way to remove it. It dissolves it very quickly and will not harm wood floors, or stained and varnished woodwork. I have used all the various products you can buy in the paint stores for removing latex paint, and denatured alcohol beats all of them. Try it and you will really be surprised how well it works.
