We are in the process of painting our 90 yr old house with clapboards treated with creosote. Is there any way short of removing the boards to effectively paint over this so as to not cause blistering. (already occurring) Thanks for any suggestions

I would recommend removing the creosote treated boards. Creosote is toxic. You won't get any paint to last, either.
