Patching and Plastering - Where to buy Durabond in NE OH?

Hi All,

I've got an army of cracks in my 80+ year old plaster that are just begging to be dug out and repaired but I can't seem to find any Durabond for sale in my area. I checked the 2 Home Despots :D near me as well as a Lowes and couldn't find any setting JC's. I did a little searching on google maps but couldn't come up with any plaster / drywall supply places either.

Anybody know of somewhere in the area that stocks it? I should find it with the other plaster / JC supplies, right?

if you are talking about the original durabond in the grey bag then I truley believe that you can't find it. But if you just want the light weight quick set then I am finding it hard to belive you cant get it at home depot. They sell that stuff everywhere. But of course (put disclaimer here) I've never shopped in Ohio so I can't say for sure.

I usually buy mine at the paint store. If the big box stores don't have durabond, they probably have easy sand which should work as well.

Thanks for the replies. I'm looking for something that will be hard / strong as many of these cracks are stress cracks and I want to repair them the best way possible. The local depots / Lowes only have the buckets of pre-mixed all purpose joint compound. I'm no expert, but everything I've read says that a setting type JC will hold up much better than the premixed bucket stuff.

I hadn't thought to try Ace, there is one not too far from here, I'll have to swing by and see if they've got anything.

Ace Hardware warehouses carry a wide variety of Durabond products.If the store doesn't have what you need in stock they can order it for you by in store computer and have it within a couple of days.Most stores get two weekly deliveries and an ordered item is added to the next delivery.
