Well I recently had a custom tile pan and tile installed and it looks terrible. This definitely falls in the category of don't pay someone else to do something you know how to do. The pan and deck were properly installed because I watched them do it. However they butchered the tile job and it looks terrible. Is it possible to chip up the new tile and retile without damaging the pan and deck? The tile I want to remove is very small mosaic with almost no grout line.

Having the contractor redo the job is not an option because I have thrown them off the job and I am ready to just fix this myself

There are different ways that a pan can be constructed. Can you describe how the pan was built?

The only way to remove is chipping it out. You may damage some of your final slope, but if it's not too badly damaged, you can just fill the damage with thinset.

The sooner you do it, the easier it "might" be.
