Hello gang,
I am in need of some wisdom and help on programming my Vista 20 for the 4204 relay module. I am afraid I have made a real mess of things using *79 and *80 fields.
I have been scouring the all the help on the boards and internet and have implemented all the advice on this subject I could find to date.
I have lost my way and need to regain some confidence. I am not able to exit out of the programming mode, retrieve EE on a #79 and have disconnected juice for too many hours of test and failure.
It appears I have rifled through more outputs then the one and only that I need.
*79 01* 1* 01* 12* 1* at this point I am at 02 and cannot *99 out of the program mode. Is there anyway to reset the *79 fields?
If I have data entered on *80 this would also need to be cleared before reconfiguring *79.
Any advice would be helpful,
Thank you in advance,
Hockeypuck

In order to figure out where you went wrong, we need to know what you were trying to actually program.
Depending on just what you might have inadvertently keyed in, you might have to do a full system default and start over from scratch.
I'm assuming that your system is a Vista 20_P_...

I am trying to get the 4204 to work with the Vista 20 in order to correctly reset the smokes in time to avoid false alarms.
I had an ADT system for 12 years and one of the smokes went bad. Two years a go I had the upgrade and the smoke that was replaced has the power supervsion module attached.
The Vista 20 came with the 4204 and the installer left it in a state that never worked correctly. We could never reset the smokes from the keypad. Little tiny spiders cause false alarms while we are sleeping. Go to panel and cannot shut off. Fire engine at the house.
Hence, I have punted ADT as they tell me it is my problem and not an installation problem. Account cancelled.
I am programming with the 6150 cannot get the *79 and *80 to line up with the 4204. All else works fine.
System default will require zone programming and I am hesistant to tackle without a more intuitve interface.
Any suggestions are welcome and appreciated.
Thank you,
Hp aka Paul

"I am programming with the 6150..."
That's the problem. You cannot see the prompts you need to do this with a 6150 keypad. There are too many variables and steps for you to try to do this blind.
This system was designed for menu mode programming to be done via a alpha keypad (6139/6160)

Thank you...
I am ordering a 6160. Do you believe I can recover with the 6160 once hooked up? Does the 6160 need to be placed in address space 16 in lieu of the 6150?
Anything you may foresee that I need to be aware of at this point?
Thanks again..

You can replace the 6150, or you can activate address 17 and add it as a second keypad.
Once you can see the prompts, you will be able to review what you did and make the corrections you need to get things untangled.
