I have a Moose Z1100e system that was installed in 1991. A few days ago the Z1100ST panel started beeping in the middle of the night because the battery was failing. Since the panel is located in the master bedroom and I did not have another battery on hand, I turned the system off using the switch on the circuit board. After several days I obtained a new battery, installed it, and turned the system back on but now I have no light on my Z1100ST. I have adjusted the lamp brightness all the way up to 20, but nothing either when I press a key or as a night light. Any idea what might have happened and how I can fix this? This has always provided a great night light and I really miss it.

I haven't had to fiddle with one of these for awhile. If I recall, the specs for that light, it is an incandescent lamp. I _think_ that it uses a type of mini lamp like a flashlight bulb that does require replacement, eventually.

Thanks for the speedy reply. With some trepidation, I disassembled the Z1100ST and several circuit boards later discovered that there are in fact 2 lamps each about 5/8 inch long and about 1/8 inch in diameter that are wired in directly with a wire coming out of either side of each lamp. They both read open with an ohm meter but they appear to be neon lamps to me rather than incandescent. Either way, I don;'t see how both lamps could have gone out at the same time. I'm fairly sure both lamps were working before because only half of the control would have been illuminated otherwise.
Is it possible that I inadvertently loosened a wire on the control board when I turned the switch off and on that might cause the lamps to fail but the rest of the system to work correctly? If it is in fact the lamps, where might I purchase some new ones?
