Hi,
I currently have a RFK5501 installed at my home and have a key fob to use when we're all upstairs. I recently purchased an extra DSC key fob (4939) that is the identical model to the one I currently own but no manual came with the thing.
Is it possible to add the new key fob to my existing system? If so, just how should I go around to get this done? Step-by-step instructions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance. :)

RFK5501 is the _keypad_ model. What model is the _alarm system_?
That keypad is compatible with a _lot_ of DSC systems.

Hi,
I totally forgot about the "box". It says PC1616 and I'm assuming that's the model name. Does that help?

Yes, because that tells us what the wireless capacity of the system is, and more importantly, which installer manual you should be using as a reference.
You need to websearch using the phrase: "DSC PC 1616 installer manual" and "RFK5501 installer manual".
Assuming that your existing keyfob is enrolled as #1
To enroll your new one as keyfob #2:
*8 [installer code]
804
42 (for keyfob #2)
enter the keyfob ESN
#
Press # til you exit programming. It should duplicate the settings of the existing keyfob.

Thank you for the step by step, greatly appreciate it.
Since the system was installed by my security company, I would assume they wouldn't tell me what the installer code is? Is there a way to figure out what that could be?
Thanks!

Short of a lucky/educated guess, no, not really. There is no way to access installer programming on this system without the code. The only way around it is to default the system, which wipes _everything_.
For the educated guess: a lot of installers use things like the last 4 digits of their phone number; their street address, the last 4 digits of their license number, etc. Sometimes they even use the house address of the location of the system.

Thank you once again MrRonFL. One more question, when I make an "educated guess" how would I know if I've gotten it right?
Is there like a number limit to wrong guesses? (I guess that would be two more questions.)
Thanks a lot!

From page 8 of the installer manual:
"To enter Installer Programming press [8][Installer Code]. The Program light will FLASH (programmable LCD keypad displays will
change to ‘Enter Section’). An error tone indicates the installer code entered is incorrect, Press [#] to clear any key presses and try again."

_Read_ the manual especially the the sections on how the programming interface works. There is no substitute for this.
